So we all know about Ernie and his odd little obsessions. He is famous for his knowledge on subjects such as sharks, World War II, The Civil War, and fighter planes. Perhaps his longest obsession and most knowledgeable subject is the Titanic. He knew every detail from ship building to the sinking. He knew names, numbers, locations. You name it, he knew it. People thought he was odd. Everyone listened to him rattle off facts and treated him like a little party trick. I know what everyone was thinking. "Oh, how cute is that. But really what good is this ever going to do him?" Well, let me just tell all you naysayers what good it did him.
At a recent swim meet our team was visiting another pool. This pool was in a ritzy neighborhood. Their announcer was doing trivia questions and who ever answered got a prize. I was busy taking pictures and I heard in the background a question being asked. Something about a ship and a pool. I really wasn't paying attention. I then heard the answer to the trivia question. "The Titanic" As I hear the answer Ernie comes up to me with a handful of money. I was aghast. "Where did you get that money?" I asked. He grinned from ear to ear and said, "I won it in the trivia contest." Of course he did. I should have known that if the answer was the Titanic Ern would know it. And what did he net for his hours and hours of study. $00.90

Things Overheard in my Car
"Hey, I just did a nose fart."
"Can you lick your pit?"
I do not make this stuff up. Thankfully the nose fart did not stink. I am not sure what the the answer to the question is. Truth be told I do not want to know.

Heaven to Me
Okay, so I haven't figured out the flip camera yet, but if you click the title of this post you will be linked to an amazing video. I think I might have died and gone to heaven. Keith Urban singing George Michael. I doesn't get better.

Testing, Testing.
I am testing out my new Flip camera. I am not sure how to add video to the blog. Be patient.
Reality
So it is official. Stuart is off. He is in Georgia for a week before he heads off to Afghanistan. It is easier to think he is in Georgia.
We had a great day yesterday. We saw him off at the airport, had lunch with my dad at Baja Fresh, Molly went to a birthday party and the rest of us went to Fredricksburg. The boys played at the pool with their cousins and then we hung out at Jeff and Katie's house and laughed so hard it hurt.
We then came home to an empty house.
Now I am the only one up and trying to motivate myself into to a productive morning. I decided I would being with updating the blog. I am not sure if this is accomplishing anything or stalling.

File under: My Kids are Just Plain Weird
Lunch today was going to be good. We had leftovers from our Memorial Day picnic. Delicious thing like smoked chicken, ribs, sirloin burgers, Nathan's hot dogs and chicken sausage. Ernie looks over this buffet and moans longingly, "I wish we had some Spam."
On a side note I just heard Ernie say that maybe he has become a vegetarian. We'll see how long that lasts.
